We believe in complete transparency. Here's what Sideload does NOT do:
- We do NOT collect any personal information
- We do NOT track your browsing activity
- We do NOT send data to external servers
- We do NOT use analytics or tracking tools
- We do NOT store any data outside your browser
- We do NOT share any information with third parties
💾 Local Storage Only
All your data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in storage API. This includes:
- Your saved web apps and their URLs
- App icon preferences and ordering
- Todo list items
- Quick notes
- Pomodoro timer settings
- Theme and display preferences
This data never leaves your device and is only accessible to you. If you uninstall the extension, all locally stored data is automatically deleted.
🔑 Permissions Explained
Sideload requires certain permissions to function. Here's why:
Storage
Save your apps, settings, and widget data locally in your browser
Side Panel
Display the extension interface in Chrome's side panel
Declarative Net Request
Enable mobile user-agent mode and allow websites to load in iframes
Host Permissions (All URLs)
Required to load any website you add into the side panel
🌐 Third-Party Websites
When you add websites to Sideload, those sites are loaded within the extension's side panel. Please note:
- Each website has its own privacy policy
- Websites may use their own cookies and tracking
- Sideload has no control over third-party website behavior
- We recommend reviewing the privacy policies of sites you add
👤 Your Control
You have complete control over your data:
- Delete individual apps anytime from Settings
- Clear all data by uninstalling the extension
- Export/backup not needed - data only exists locally
- No account required - use immediately without signup
📝 Changes to This Policy
If we ever make changes to this privacy policy, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. Since we don't collect any data, we have no way to notify you directly of changes - we recommend checking this page periodically.
